Majestic views of the Betaab Valley in Pahalgam

The Trio of Enchantment

A Pahalgam trip is defined by the exploration of three iconic valleys. Each offers a unique ecosystem and a different perspective of the Himalayan foothills.

01

Aru Valley

A serene village located 12km uphill. It's the base camp for trekking to the Kolahoi Glacier and offers some of the most tranquil meadow stays in Kashmir.

02

Betaab Valley

Famous for its lush green meadows and the river flowing through it. It's an ideal spot for a family picnic or a romantic stroll amidst the willow trees.

03

Chandanwari

The gateway to the Amarnath Yatra. Famous for its 'Snow Bridge' that lasts well into the summer, it's a place of both spiritual and natural significance.

Baisaran: The Mini Switzerland

Accessible only by a 1-hour pony ride or a rigorous trek through dense pine forests, Baisaran is a vast meadow that looks remarkably like the Swiss countryside. Surrounded by snow-capped peaks and tall dark pines, it's the ultimate 'hidden' gem of Pahalgam.

Pony Trek

The most popular way to reach. Experience the rhythm of the mountains.

Tulian Lake

For the adventurers, Baisaran is the stopover for the high-altitude Tulian Lake trek.

Picnic Haven

Carry some Kahwa and snacks to enjoy the most scenic lunch of your life.

Life Along the Lidder

Adventure & Gastronomy

The Lidder River is more than just a water body; it's the lifeblood of Pahalgam. For the adventurous, it offers thrilling white-water rafting (Grade II and III) during the summer months. For the reflective traveler, it's the premier spot for Trout fishing (Angling), a legacy of the British era in the valley.

No Pahalgam tour is complete without tasting the local Trout. We can arrange for you to visit a local fish farm and have a freshly caught Trout prepared with traditional Kashmiri spices for your dinner.

Did You Know?

The Mamaleshwar Temple in Pahalgam dates back to the 12th century and is dedicated to Lord Shiva. It's one of the few ancient stone temples in the region still in active worship.

Rafting Season

May to September is the best time for rafting when the river volume is optimal.

Angling Permits

We assist in obtaining the necessary government permits for Trout fishing.

Riverside Stays

We partner with boutique resorts that offer private river access and balconies overlooking the Lidder.

Local Market

Pahalgam market is famous for its woolen 'Gabbas' and authentic Himalayan honey.

Pahalgam Explorer FAQ

Do I need a separate vehicle for local sightseeing in Pahalgam?

Yes, due to local transport union regulations, outside vehicles (including your Srinagar cab) are not allowed to go to Aru, Betaab, and Chandanwari. You must hire a local union taxi, which we arrange for you as part of our package.

Is it safe to go white-water rafting in Pahalgam?

Yes, we only partner with certified rafting agencies that provide life jackets, helmets, and experienced instructors. The rapids are generally beginner-friendly (Grade I-III).

How long is the pony ride to Baisaran?

A round trip takes about 2 to 2.5 hours. This includes time spent at the Baisaran meadow for photos and a short break.

Can we visit Pahalgam in winter?

Absolutely. Pahalgam looks like a Christmas card in winter. While some higher points like Chandanwari may be inaccessible due to heavy snow, the main valley and the river are stunning.

Are there good vegetarian food options in Pahalgam?

Yes, many hotels and local restaurants serve excellent North Indian vegetarian food. There are also specialized 'Pure Veg' restaurants in the main market.

Is Pahalgam better for a honeymoon or a family trip?

It's perfect for both. Its romantic riverside settings are ideal for couples, while the meadows and pony rides make it a hit with families and kids.

What should I wear for the Baisaran pony ride?

Wear comfortable trousers and shoes with good grip. In winter, ensure you have heavy woolens as the meadow can be much colder than the main town.
