Kashmir Great Lakes Trek

Sonmarg is the starting point for what is widely considered the most beautiful trek in India. This 7-day journey takes you through five high-altitude alpine lakes: Vishansar, Kishansar, Gadsar, Satsar, and Gangabal. It's a soul-stirring experience that traverses through meadows of wildflowers and over high mountain passes.

Vishansar Lake

"The Lake of Vishnu". Famous for its turquoise waters and trophy-sized Brown Trout.

Kishansar Lake

Mirroring the reflections of the peaks, it's a paradise for photographers and nature lovers.

Gadsar Pass

The highest point of the trek at 13,800 ft, offering a panoramic view of the entire range.

The Sindh River Legacy

Angler's Paradise

The Sindh River is the only place in Kashmir where you can find both Rainbow and Brown Trout in abundance.

Nomadic Life

Observe the Gujjar and Bakarwal communities as they migrate with their herds through the Sonmarg meadows.

Silk Road History

Discover the remains of ancient inns (sarais) that once housed traders from Central Asia and China.

Rafting Thrills

Experience white-water rafting on the Sindh, known for its technical rapids and icy cold water.

The Meadow of Gold Cuisine

Due to its higher altitude and nomadic influence, the food in Sonmarg has a distinct character. Try the local 'Kulcha' bread and the heavy, butter-rich meat stews that keep the locals warm during the long winters.

Our Sonmarg tour packages include authentic dining experiences at local riverside camps, where you can enjoy traditional Kashmiri food while listening to the roar of the Sindh.
